Stories & thoughts behind the artwork

 
 
 

I used to live in Vevey,  a Canton of Vaud in Switzerland, and this painting was inspired by a return trip in 2023. There are vineyard terraces all along the south facing northern shores of Lake Geneva, that overlook the Dents du Midi mountains, and the Cornettes de Bise peaks.

What fascinates me with the scene are the patterns that the vineyards make along the shoreline, and how the sky and lake seem to embrace the mountains.
